In this guide, we’ll dive into seven magical crafts that promise to turn your home into a winter wonderland. Buckle up, because we’re about to transform ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, one craft at a time.

  • Craft #1: Pom-Pom Snowflakes
  • Craft #2: Santa’s Beard Countdown
  • Craft #3: Toilet Paper Roll Reindeer
  • Craft #4: Handprint Christmas Tree
  • Craft #5: Gingerbread House Extravaganza
  • Craft #6: Popsicle Stick Ornaments
  • Craft #7: Christmas Carol Karaoke Mic

Craft #1: Pom-Pom Snowflakes

Embrace the joy of a winter wonderland with our Pom-Pom Snowflakes, where the more pom-poms, the merrier! This craft is all about transforming your living room into a festive paradise. To kick things up a notch, let’s take a closer look at the art of pom-pom perfection.

Begin by gathering an assortment of pom-poms in various sizes and colors. This isn’t just a craft; it’s a color explosion waiting to happen. Lay out your materials on a crafting battlefield, also known as your dining table, and let the kiddos unleash their creativity.

Encourage them to experiment with patterns, creating unique snowflakes that defy the laws of winter physics. The secret? There are no rules – just pom-pom pandemonium. As the snowflakes take shape, you’ll witness the magic of imagination at play.

To elevate the experience, consider adding a dash of glitter for that extra touch of winter sparkle. A sprinkle here, a sprinkle there – because who can resist the allure of glittery snowflakes?

As you adorn your home with these fluffy creations, revel in the joy of a DIY masterpiece that not only adds a festive touch but also becomes a testament to the bond shared during these crafting escapades.

Craft #2: Santa’s Beard Countdown

Let’s dive into the jolly world of Santa’s Beard Countdown, a craft that not only sparks excitement but also doubles as a daily reminder of the impending holiday cheer.

Gather materials such as cotton balls, construction paper, and googly eyes. Now, imagine the joy on your little one’s face as they transform Santa’s face from smooth to a fluffy, cotton-filled masterpiece.

Start by creating Santa’s face on a large piece of construction paper. Add rosy cheeks, a cherry-red nose, and those iconic twinkling eyes. Now, the fun part – Santa’s beard!

Each day leading up to the big day, let the kiddos glue a cotton ball onto Santa’s beard. The anticipation builds as the beard grows, reaching its full festive glory just in time for the grand celebration.

This craft not only ignites the excitement of the holiday countdown but also becomes a whimsical decoration that reflects the passage of time. It’s a crafty journey that transforms ordinary days into a festive calendar of joy.

Craft #3: Toilet Paper Roll Reindeer

Repurpose those toilet paper rolls into delightful Toilet Paper Roll Reindeer, a craft that combines recycling with festive flair. This project is not just about crafting; it’s about turning everyday items into holiday masterpieces.

Gather your trusty toilet paper rolls, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, and any other crafty embellishments you desire. The crafting battlefield awaits, and your mini artisans are ready for action.

Encourage the kiddos to transform each roll into a unique reindeer character. From Dasher to Rudolph, the possibilities are as vast as their imagination. Paint, glue, and embellish to their heart’s content, turning each roll into a festive reindeer personality.

As you witness the transformation of simple rolls into a herd of holiday helpers, take a moment to appreciate the joy of upcycling. It’s not just a craft; it’s a lesson in creativity and resourcefulness. These reindeer not only adorn your space but also become ambassadors of sustainable crafting.

Craft #4: Handprint Christmas Tree

Prepare for a trip down memory lane with our Handprint Christmas Tree, a craft that captures a moment in time and transforms it into a timeless holiday keepsake.

Gather green paint, construction paper, and an extra dose of patience as you embark on this sentimental journey. This craft isn’t just about creating a Christmas tree; it’s about freezing a moment in your child’s growth.

Begin by painting your little one’s hand with green paint – a task that promises giggles and perhaps a few unintentional handprints on nearby surfaces. Carefully guide their hand onto a piece of construction paper, creating the branches of a handprint tree.

Encourage them to decorate the tree with ornaments made from colorful fingerprints or other crafty embellishments. As the tree takes shape, so does a precious memory captured in the form of tiny handprints.

This craft not only decorates your home but also serves as a visual timeline of holiday celebrations. Over the years, you’ll witness the growth of those little hands, turning this craft into a cherished holiday tradition.

Craft #5: Gingerbread House Extravaganza

Step into the sugary world of the Gingerbread House Extravaganza, a craft that transforms your kitchen into a festive construction site. This project is not just about crafting; it’s about creating an edible masterpiece that doubles as a festive centerpiece.

Gather gingerbread house kits or bake your own gingerbread using a trusty recipe. Lay out an array of colorful candies, icing, and sprinkles – because when it comes to decorating, more is always merrier.

Assemble the gingerbread houses, creating a mini village of sugary abodes. This craft isn’t just about construction; it’s about turning each house into a unique reflection of your little one’s creativity.

Encourage the kiddos to express themselves through candy placement, icing designs, and perhaps a touch of edible glitter for that extra festive sparkle. As the houses come to life, so does the joy of crafting edible art together.

This craft not only engages the senses but also becomes a festive centerpiece, proudly displayed until the last gumdrop disappears. It’s a crafting adventure that combines creativity with a touch of sugary magic.

Craft #6: Popsicle Stick Ornaments

Because nothing screams “crafty mom” like Popsicle Stick Ornaments. This project isn’t just about crafting; it’s about turning humble sticks into festive treasures that adorn your holiday tree.

Gather popsicle sticks, paint, glue, and an assortment of embellishments. As you prepare for this crafting escapade, remember: the simplicity of popsicle sticks hides the potential for extraordinary creativity.

Encourage the kiddos to transform each stick into a holiday masterpiece. From painted snowflakes to tiny reindeer, let their imagination run wild. As the sticks take on new life, so does your holiday tree, adorned with unique, handmade ornaments.

This craft not only adds a personal touch to your decorations but also becomes a testament to the joy of crafting with everyday materials. Popsicle stick ornaments aren’t just ornaments; they’re tiny masterpieces that showcase the boundless creativity of your little artisans.

Craft #7: Christmas Carol Karaoke Mic

Transform your living room into a festive stage with DIY Christmas Carol Karaoke Mics, a craft that not only brings the family together but also turns your home into a musical wonderland.

Gather paper towel rolls, paint, glitter, and any other decorative elements that scream “karaoke glam.” This project isn’t just about crafting; it’s about unleashing the inner rockstars within your household.

Encourage the kiddos to transform each paper towel roll into a microphone fit for a holiday concert. Paint, glitter, and bedazzle to their heart’s content. This isn’t just a craft; it’s an opportunity for self-expression and a touch of DIY glam.

As your living room transforms into a stage, grab your karaoke playlist and let the holiday tunes echo through the halls. Belt out your favorite carols, and revel in the unique sound of joyous, off-key caroling. This craft isn’t just about making microphones; it’s about creating memories filled with laughter and musical merriment.

There you have it, marvelous mamas – a journey through seven magical DIY Christmas crafts that are Mom-Tested and Kid-Approved. Embrace the chaos, cherish the memories, and remember: it’s not about perfection but the imperfect, handcrafted joy you share with your little ones. May your holiday season be filled with laughter, love, and crafts that turn ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. Happy crafting, you DIY divas! 🎄✨

Meet Jackie

Hello! I'm a wife, mom of 2 boys, coffee and wine lover who lives in the Nashville, TN area. After growing up in Chicago and moving to St. Louis for 6 years, we decided that Music City was our new home! I have a neurological illness, called CIDP, that has turned my life upside down, and I have created this blog to have a little spot on the internet to share with you my life as a busy mama who loves to shop, eat, drink & be merry! So grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, and enjoy your time with me here at One Top Knot Mama. Cheers, friend!

The only somewhat cute picture I have taken this s The only somewhat cute picture I have taken this summer where sweat isn't dripping from my face or I look like a troll under a bridge. It was a busy summer. I took time away from my blog & socials to fill my cup☕️.

Going forward, I hope to still be active here on IG, but know I need time away from scrolling. I am not a fashionista. I am a shorts & tee girl, messy bun, my hair is mostly dry shampoo by the time Friday rolls around. I don't wear fake nails or eyelashes. It's just not me.

The mental mind f*ck that is social media tried to get me to be someone I am not. I am finding that I enjoy writing on my blog more. Creating printables, worksheets, checklists, gift guides etc than posing in outfits I buy specifically for content that I don't even feel comfortable in.

There are better women than me on here that do a great job of this, and I get huge doses of imposter syndrome. I was spiralling. Never feeling good enough. And that just isn't healthy.

I also don't want to be tone deaf. I know our country is in crisis right now, thanks to our so-called "leaders." If you support our current administration, please just unfollow me now. I know families are struggling to put food on the table. I know parents are choosing between paying the bills or medicine. Kids are watching as their parents are dragged away by masked men. And the list goes on and on.

I just don't have it in me anymore. I'm exhausted. And my kids need me now more than ever as we are navigating 4th & 7th grades. So if you're still here, thank you. Please check out my blog, sign up for my emails because I am very more active there!

My goal is to continue to spread positivity and relatable content to other moms, resources to help you in everyday life, and to use my space as a creative outlet to fill my cup up.

I appreciate you all. Here is a recommendation if you're in the Nashville area, try @brunchcollectivetn for some amazing coffee, food and atmosphere!

Happy September, talk soon.
