I am here to tell you I am 9 pounds lighter in just 2 weeks by adding this simple thing to my morning routine. I haven’t changed anything else, exercise-related or diet related except for THIS. I am immuno-compromised, and was tired of feeling achy and sore and tired every day, and GAINING weight when I wanted to be LOSING weight. I started researching different things to try for auto-immune diets and came upon this recipe. I ordered this fancy, shiny juicer, and impatiently waited for its arrival. A friend recommended this juicer to me and she couldn’t say enough good things about it, so I just HAD to try it for myself. I was used to making smoothies and things with our blender, but a juicer was very new to me. I had only tried green juice drinks in restaurants and had complete sticker shock at the amount it cost in such a small glass.
I had first tasted a juice like this at First Watch, a breakfast/lunch restaurant. They call it their Kale Tonic Fresh Juice. And for a whopping $4.99, you can taste what I make from home every morning for a lot cheaper and way more convenient. I started making this every morning just a few weeks ago, and have already lost 9 pounds. It’s worth a try if you are looking for healthy ways to lose weight and feel good doing it!

Here is my exact recipe for how I make this Kale Tonic Juice every morning.
Kale Tonic Juice
1 Cup fresh Kale
1 Cup water
1 Cucumber, rinsed
1 Lemon, rinsed
3 Granny Smith Apples, rinsed (Fuji apples also work)
Add all ingredients to your favorite Juicer.
Pour over Ice. Enjoy!
These are based on preference. If you want a more citrus taste, add 2 lemons instead of 1. You can add more kale as well. I pack mine in, it’s not a loose 1 cup. Think of how you pack brown sugar in a measuring cup. I kind of smash it down to get more in the juicer.
One tip: Make sure you immediately rinse and wash your juicer attachments in warm water. The peels and leftover pieces will cake on there and will be a pain in the butt to clean if you don’t do it right away.

The fresh kale I buy weekly. You can even freeze it, so if it’s on sale, stock up!
Kale has many healthy benefits. According to Medical News Today, “Kale contains fiber, antioxidants, calcium, vitamins C and K, iron, and a wide range of other nutrients that can help prevent various health problems. Antioxidants help the body remove unwanted toxins that result from natural processes and environmental pressures.”
I go through a cucumber every day as well for this juice recipe. You can do half a cucumber if it’s really big. One cucumber is about $0.59. Seven cucumbers is $4.13.
Cucumbers are rich in electrolytes. They can prevent dehydration and may support cardiovascular, bone, and skin health and help fight diabetes and cancer (Medical News Today).
I purchase a 2lb bag of lemons every week, which costs about $3.99.
Lemons have really good health benefits too. You can read about it my post HERE. In general, lemons may support heart health, weight control, and digestive health (Healthline.com).
Lastly is the apples. I buy the 3lb bag of granny smith apples for $4.99. Typically I go through one bag of these a week, unless my kids grab some for a snack. I tend to buy a 3lb bag of gala apples as well, just because my kids love apples!
Apples contain antioxidants, dietary fiber, vitamins, and a range of other nutrients. They are known to reduce the risk of cancer, obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and several other conditions (Medical News Today).
I want to add up these prices so you see how little it costs to get such big results each week.
Kale = $2.50
Cucumber = $4.13
Lemons = $3.99
Apples = $4.99
TOTAL = $15.61
That’s it! How could you not want to add this to your morning routine? All you have to lose….is weight!
