Believe it or not, Spring Break is right around the corner, and as a mom, you’re probably thinking about what your kids will need for their vacation. Whether you’re going to the beach, the mountains, or just staying home, here are some tips for spring break shopping that will help you get everything your family needs.
MAKE A LIST
With Spring Break right around the corner, it can be a stressful time getting your family ready. To make things easier, I’ve created a checklist to help you pack for your perfect vacation.
First, start by making a list of what everyone will need. Depending on your location, you may want to consider items like swimsuits, rain jackets, hats, sunscreen, or an umbrella. Make sure to think about the activities you’ll be doing and plan accordingly.
Once you have a list of items, start packing. It’s important to separate your items into categories such as clothing, accessories, and toiletries. This will help you stay organized and make sure everything fits in your suitcase.
If you’re traveling with kids, it’s important to think about their needs as well. Pack a few of their favorite toys and activities to keep them entertained. Also, make sure to bring a few extra changes of clothes just in case of any emergencies.
Finally, don’t forget to check the weather. This will help you figure out what to wear and pack. It’s also important to make sure you have any necessary items like passports or tickets.
By following this checklist and planning ahead, you can make sure your family is ready for the perfect spring break vacation.

START EARLY
Don’t wait until the last minute to start shopping for spring break. Start early so that you have plenty of time to find the best deals and the right items for your family. This will also give you time to order items online and have them shipped to your home. A lot of retailers start putting their spring stuff out the week after Christmas, believe it or not!
SHOP ONLINE
Speaking of online shopping, it’s a great way to save time and money when shopping for spring break. Many retailers offer free shipping and special discounts for online shoppers. Plus, you can easily compare prices and find the best deals without leaving your home. One of the benefits I love the most about shopping online are the additional discounts you can get through sites like RAKUTEN and Honey. Read my post HERE to learn more about them and how to get actual cash back for shopping online!

FOCUS ON VERSATILITY
When shopping for spring break, it’s important to focus on versatility. Look for items that can be worn in different ways, such as swimwear that can double as a top, or dresses that can be dressed up or down. This will help you pack lighter and make the most of your vacation wardrobe. Think neutral colors that you can mix and match pieces together easily. If you have those GOTTA HAVE outfits for family photos or a date night, by all means, pack that up! One piece that I particularly fell in love with last year was the linen/gauze button down tops that work as a coverup AND a cute top paired with denim shorts.
Below are some of my favorites in my closet right now:
- Women’s 100% Cotton Gauze Top – Stars Above™
- Women’s Button-Up Cover Up Shirtdress – Kona Sol™
- Paintcolors Women’s Long Sleeve Cotton Button Down
DON’T FORGET THE BASICS
While it’s easy to get caught up in buying new clothes and accessories, don’t forget about the basics. Make sure your family has plenty of sunscreen, bug spray, and first aid supplies. Also, stock up on snacks and drinks for the road or for the beach. You can never have enough snacks!
Finally! You’re all done! Once all the packing is done and your kids have asked 792 times, “Are we there yet?”, it’s time to enjoy yourself for a stress free spring break! Shopping for spring break doesn’t have to be stressful. By making a list, starting early, shopping online, focusing on versatility, and not forgetting the basics, you’ll be able to get everything your family needs for a fun and relaxing vacation. Happy shopping!
